Reflection
There are so many walking wounded among us who have been hurt by the sharp edges of our hedonistic Culture.
They are the silent collateral damage who are seldom remembered as they suffer the brunt and pay the ultimate price for a culture that is founded on sexual pleasure and license.
Many of them are young and innocent children whose rights and wellbeing mean so little to the social engineers who are reshaping and redesigning the structure of the family unit.
Some of these victims are ignorant and misinformed men and women who are lured into the den of sterilisation.
There are the inconsolable women who are expected by the modern society to mourn silently for their babies lost in abortion.
There are also the heart-broken men and women who are silently suffering the excruciating pain of divorce.
With the incredible numbers of abortions, forced sterilisations, divorce and (in most recent years) same-sex parent adoptions, this means we have many millions of silent but bleeding victims who are in need of healing.
So for them, we approach our beloved Patron Saint Josephine Bakhita to bring the most tender mercy of God , to heal and help these silent victims of the hedonistic Culture of Death.
Prayer:
?St. Josephine Bakhita, you were sold into slavery as a child and endured untold hardship and suffering. Once liberated from your physical enslavement, you found true redemption in your encounter with Christ and his Church.
O St. Josephine Bakhita, assist all those who are trapped in a
state of slavery; intercede with God on their behalf so that they will be released from their chains
of captivity.
Those whom man enslaves, let God set free.
Provide comfort to survivors of slavery and let them look to you as an example of hope and faith. Help all survivors find healing from their wounds.
We ask for your prayers and intercessions for those enslaved among us.
Amen.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.
